Mindfulness, Meditation and Stress Management At Sea

Just about anyone you talk with will tell you. Life has gotten very stressful, at work and at home. We all ask ourselves, “How did my life become so stressful, and what can I do about it?”

Yeru Health & Wellness Center is offering a retreat on Mindfulness, Meditation and Stress Release. And we are doing it in the beautiful Caribbean, aboard the MSC Divina Cruise Ship. The cruise begins and ends in Miami, with stops at Ocho Rios, Jamaica, George Town, Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Mexico, and Nassau, Bahamas. This is the perfect place to learn how to be mindful, learn or improve your meditation practice, learn the causes of your stress, and learn how you can manage stress anywhere.

Stress is the leading cause of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune disease, and strokes, and the list just keeps growing. By fusing the ancient Tibetan spirituality and modern psychology, Yeru Health & Wellness has created a proven program to reduce stress, thereby improving your health, your work life and your family life.

You will discover how diet, environment, and people can cause stress, and how stress significantly impacts your life in all areas.

You will learn how to let go of stress.  Most important, you will discover your role in why your life is stressful, and learn techniques to make the changes in your life.

We chose to have this transformational retreat on MCS Divina because it’s the perfect place for you to discover you have this amazing ability to change your life, while enjoying on-ship activities and visiting Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Bahama and Cozumel. There will be classes throughout the week, worked around the in-port schedules, while we are at sea.  You will have unique assignments throughout the week for your own personal growth.

Through the Yeru Health and Wellness program, a fusion of ancient Tibetan spirituality and new developments in psychology, you will discover the healing power of mindfulness and meditation. You will learn or improve your mindfulness and meditation techniques. Working with certified life coaches and therapists, and as an added bonus, presentations from a master Geshe, from the ancient Yungdrung Bon Tibetan spiritual Practice. You will learn to recognize why you stress, how to identify and change your stress-causing habits, and how to manage your stress in your work and personal life.

You will return to your daily life with a new outlook on life.

Here is the fun part – you can bring your family, friends or co-workers.  Your guests can either participate in the retreat, or they can just enjoy the cruise and catch up with you for fun activities.

Your life will be irrevocably transformed when you board this ship. You will discover and learn so much of yourself and others.

Who Should Attend: Anyone who is done with living a life of stress, having difficulties with their family life or work life, feeling depressed, having health issues. This retreat is also great for health care workers who would like to offer their clients an alternative form of stress relief.  This course is perfect for beginners and advanced students who want to improve their mindfulness practice and meditation.

Why Mindfulness and Meditation?  The practice of mindfulness and meditation has a variety of well-documented impacts, including a reduction in toxic stress, an increase in emotion regulation, and an improvement in sustained attention, focus and executive functioning.

When we are under pressure, the body will try to protect itself through releasing chemicals to the brain, adding strength and energy. However, in some circumstances when we feel overwhelmed the body can shut down. It can slow down our reactions, slow our thoughts and feelings and cause emotional dysfunction.

Why This Retreat? Because you are ready to make a change in your life, or help someone in your life to make a change (transform), into a healthier, well-balanced you. This is not a religious based retreat.  This is a retreat using a fusion of ancient Tibetan meditation and spiritual techniques with modern psychology.  This powerful fusion brings our attendees a life altering experience, and the tools to make it last.  You will learn why your life is stuck, why you are under so much stress, why you are unhappy. Then you will learn how to transform your negatives into positive wisdoms. No Band-Aids here! By the end of this incredible week, you will self -discover why your life is so stressful, and how using our tools can make an incredible change, not only for you, but your family and work place.   All while you are enjoying a beautiful ship and stopping at beautiful ports. 

What Happens after the retreat? Well, we are not just going to say goodbye on March 4, 2017, no, no, no! Your registration includes three more months of working with our Yeru Health and Wellness team. We stay in contact with people through skype or zoom all over the world. It is amazing to be able to continue being a part of our clients’ personal transformation.

Deborah Peteler

Deborah Peteler has worked in the healing and transformative arts for over 30 years. A practicing nurse for 15 years, Deborah studied at UCLA Medical School, but family obligations dictated she could not finish her degree. A compassionate care-giver, Deborah provided in-home care for a terminally ill family member for five years. Deborah is a certified health, family and executive coach, and a family and child counsellor, where her work focuses on stress management, pain management, and family and work environment.

Deborah has been a student of Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche for over 20 years. She currently serves as the Administrative Director of the Yeru Bon Center in Minneapolis, where she has been instrumental in developing new course offerings and teaching techniques for a modern American and European audience.

Deborah founded the Yeru Health and Wellness Center to fuse ancient Tibetan wisdom and spiritual practice with modern techniques in a non-religious format, to serve the needs of contemporary society. As a cancer survivor and through daily living with RA, Deborah has personally experienced the benefits of these Tibetan practices, and is passionate about bringing awareness of this wisdom to a wider audience.

Dr. B. Raven Lee

Bio foto2106Dr. B. Raven Lee, PhD. LCSW, DCEP, FNBCH, is a transpersonal psychotherapist, meditation teacher, diplomate in energy psychology, and board-certified fellow in clinical hypnotherapy.

A Buddhist practitioner for thirty years, Raven is a senior teacher for the Three Doors Academy of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.

As a mystic shaman healer, Raven integrates ancient wisdom with psychology and neurobiology in her private practice in Pasadena, California, specializing in trauma and mind-body healing.

Her book, Unbinding the Soul: Awakening through Crisis and Compassion is available through Amazon. All proceeds benefit the Tibetan-Bön community.

You will receive a final schedule 30 days prior to your trip.   The ship will have confirmed activities and Yeru Health and Wellness will finalize timing around ports and other important ship activities.

Definitely daily morning Meditation practice – either pool side or another perfect spot (this meditation time is reserved for our group, but we invite anyone who meditates or is interested in meditation to join in, if they would like)

Ports-  The ship will have a lot of wonderful excursion programs for you to choose.  Once you have registered for your retreat,  you will be sent excursion options for you to consider

Cancellations:  All cancellations must be received in writing and receipt will be acknowledge by MCS Cruises.

How To Register:

Rooms have been blocked for this event.  They are quickly filling fast.

There are two options:

1.  A $300.00 will confirm your room, final payment due December 1. You can make monthly payments or all final payments on or before December 1, 2016. We will hold a room in the category requested, but no guarantee on the location of the room.

2.  You can make your payment in full, in the category of your choice in the premium area of such category.
